Enzymlogic at the V Spanish Drug Discovery Network Conference
October , 24- 25th 2013
Enzymlogic will present "Structure-kinetic relationship and kinetic selectivity profiling: toward the discovery and development of novel drugs". The kinetics of drug binding and particularly residence time is increasingly recognized to play a pivotal role in clinical effectiveness. Several studies show the potential of considering kinetics to improve drug efficacy, safety, duration of action and differentiate medicines. However, the concept of binding kinetics is often overlooked in the early phase of drug discovery. Here, we report the importance of high throughput kinetics in the discovery of novel CDK8/Cyclin C inhibitors. We demonstrate that the combination of affinity and kinetic metrics improves decision-making in drug discovery leading to higher quality compounds and series.
